Milholen, Lillian “Catherine”, went to join her beloved “Chuck” in heaven on November 19, 2023. She was born and raised in Cooleemee, NC. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles “Chuck” Milholen in 1943. After the war the couple moved to Virginia and eventually settled in Chesterfield County. She was a long-time member of Providence United Methodist Church. She worked as a receptionist/PBX operator for Virginia Mutual Insurance Company before her daughters were born, then returned to the job once her daughters were in high school. She stayed until she retired in1989. It was the perfect job for her - she was paid to meet and talk to people, one of her favorite things. Catherine never met a stranger - she could always find a way to relate to people, and would find out their life story in a heartbeat. She was outgoing, flamboyant, and loved to shop - fashion was a passion. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and at any point of the year she would remind you how many days were left before Christmas Day. She collected angels of all shapes and sizes which would be on full display throughout the holidays..
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willey and Lillie Mae Blalock; all of her brothers and sisters - Naylor, Herbert, Bill, Edna, Nelly and Jane; her Virginia “mom” Beulah Warner, and her husband Charles Edward Milholen. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Shadrach (Rod) of Powhatan, Va and Cathy Milholen of Amelia, Va; her grandson Eli Shadrach and his wife Phuong Tran; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in March, 2024, when she would have celebrated her 100th birthday! Memorial donations may be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 901 S. Providence Rd., N. Chesterfield, Va. 23236.
